Wake and Service for Jackie Postlewaite – Jackie Postlewaite, a long-time member of our congregation, passed away this past Thursday, April 23. Her family will be receiving friends at the Richard’s Funeral Home located at 1440 Union Valley Road in West Milford tomorrow, Sunday, April 26 between the hours of 1 and 5 pm. A service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 4:30 pm.
Adult Bible Study will be held next week in the Junior High Classroom in the education wing of the church on Wednesday evening, May 6, to continue our study of the Book of Revelation. We will focus on Revelation chapters 15 through 18. Most of the Book of Revelation is a recounting of John’s visions, and these chapters continue to share his visions. All are welcome to attend and to join in the discussion. It’s a great break in the middle of the week to focus on faith and the Bible.
Special Charge Conference – Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Church Library beginning at 7:30pm
“The Rev. Dr. Steven G. Bechtold, Skylands District Superintendent, has authorized Rev. E. Richard Knox to convene a Special Charge Conference onMonday, May 11, 2015 at the beginning of the Church Council meeting for the purpose of voting to set the salary for the incoming pastor Rev. Jennifer Lovallo. No other business is authorized to be considered.”
Elder Law Seminar – Local attorneys, Debra Lynn Nicholson Esq. and Thomas J. Hayes Esq., will be presenting an informative seminar on Wills, Living Wills, Durable Power of Attorneys and Long Term Care Options at 7:30 p.m. on May 18, 2015 at the United Methodist Church at Newfoundland. One of the questions that will be answered will be “How can a new Will save my heirs $33,200?”
Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer period and Attorneys Nicholson and Hayes have volunteered to review any documents that are brought to the presentation to advise if they are in compliance with current state law for any attendees that wish to have their documents reviewed.
