Dear Friends,
For the past few weeks we’ve been discussing the 5 markers of a healthy and vital church. We’ve talked about giving generously, worship, and small groups, and this Sunday we’ll finish the series with a look at mission and how we make new disciples. I hope you’ll stay for fellowship time after worship and share your ideas for the church around these 2 topics. A hot lunch is provided by our Team Vital members.
Next week begins the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday on February 10th.
We’ll come together for a soup supper at 6:30 pm followed by a worship service at 7:30 pm.
During Lent I encourage you to go deeper in your faith by participating
in a small group study. I will be offering a sermon series on Jesus’
Final Words from the cross with a midweek study group beginning on
Wednesday, February 17th at noon and 7:00 pm in the church Library.
Books are available for $11 each.
Confirmation classes begin on Sunday, February 14th from noon to 1:30 pm
every other Sunday and from 6:30 to 8:00 pm alternating Sundays
beginning February 21st. Students will be confirmed on Pentecost Sunday
May 15th.
If you have children or grandchildren ages 6 and up who’d be interested
in learning musical theatre skills consider enrolling them in the
Storytelling Tree; a new ministry of our church. Children will learn
the stories of Jesus through drama, music and dance and study theatre
skills with a professional teacher. Directed by Rev. Jenn and her
husband, Rich Lovallo, classes begin Friday, February 12th from 3:30 –
4:45 pm in the Sanctuary and conclude with a Showcase Performance on
Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 am. The cost is $150 with scholarships
available for those in need. Please register through the church office.
