We gathered on Zoom at 10:00 am this morning to worship God and explore how we can find the Courage to be Last.
Today’s scripture verse (Philippians 2:1-5) showed us the blessing in having the mind of Christ, who always gave of himself, caring for others, serving others, and blessing others. When you support the mission and ministry of Christ through our local church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness, you are aligning your will and mind with the mind of Christ. Thank you for blessing us. Donations may be mailed to UMC at Newfoundland, PO Box 288, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 or made online through our conference website gnjumc.org/online giving. Our church is number 2040 and we’re in the Skylands District.
Stay safe and have a blessed week!
Rev. Jenn

This Sunday we have the second and final opportunity to worship with our Bishop as we begin a new year of renewal. The focus this week is on Jesus’ baptism, and I encourage us all to remember our own baptism, and be thankful.
The video for the worship service will be available at 10:00 am on Sunday via YouTube and our Facebook page. Here is the link for the video:
I look forward to preaching again the following Sunday, January 17th as I’ll begin a new worship theme around being Courageous. We all need a little more courage in these trying times!
Thank you again for your continued support of the mission and ministry of Christ through your giving to our church. I encourage you to make a pledge to our church if you haven’t already done so. Your commitment of giving helps us fulfill our budget, and will also become a spiritual discipline for you personally as you put your trust in God’s abundance.
Blessings for the New Year,
Rev. Jenn

This Sunday Bishop Schol will bring us the message as we join in virtual worship with United Methodists around our Greater NJ Conference. We’ll be celebrating Holy Communion together so please have some bread or crackers, and juice or water at hand for later in the service. The video will be available for viewing on our Facebook page and through YouTube beginning at 10:00 am on Sunday, January 3. Here is the link for the service:
I thank all of you who have helped us finish this fiscal year strong. Your generosity has made it possible for us to not only keep our doors open, but to welcome the West Milford Blood Drive monthly, provide food for school-aged children and families in need, offer gently used household items and clothing to our neighbors, and expand our pre-school and child-care center to include a remote learning classroom. It’s not too late to make an end-of-the-year charitable donation by mailing your gift to UMC at Newfoundland, PO Box 288, Newfoundland, NJ 07435. Or if you prefer to use a debit or credit card, you can make your gift online through our Conference website at gnjumc.org/onlinegiving. Our church number is 2040 and we’re in the Skylands District.
Finally, I pray that we will all go into the new year with a spirit of hope and joy, for we are God’s beloved children, and because of the Gift of Christmas – Emmanuel – we are never alone.
Blessings and Happy New Year,
Rev. Jenn
